Having charging issues on your early Ford? Or maybe performing a 12 volt conversion? Prewar and More can rebuild your early Ford generator in original 6 volt or convert your generator to 12 volt to ensure your car charges the way it should. We can also rewire your generator to use a voltage regulator instead of the stock cut out. This option will convert your generator to a 2 brush generator like the later 1939-1953 generators and removes your original cut out to use the traditional style voltage regulator.

Don't be fooled by some of those other guys offering "rebuilds" but reusing all your old worn parts. Every generator we rebuild gets brand new field coils, brushes, bearings, bushings and hardware all included in the price. Your armature will be tested to ensure no shorted windings and commentator surface will be turned, polished, and mica will be recut. The original tapered armature bearings will be upgraded to 2 new sealed ball bearings. Your case will be sandblasted and painted and end plates refurbished to factory finish. Finally, the generator will be tested and amperage rating checked before being securely packaged and shipped back to you. All generator rebuilds come with a 90 day warranty.
